ROSACEA

ROSACEA

Rosacea is a chronic condition of the facial skin, often characterized by redness that tends to intensify overtime by taking on a ruddier appearance and visible blood vessels. This occurs in the central part of the face, including the cheeks, nose, chin or forehead. Flare-ups and remissions are not uncommon as symptoms may come and go. If left untreated, angry, red, pus-filled bumps and pimples can develop. In severe cases, the skin on the nose may grow swollen and bumpy from excess tissue. Some may also experience dryness, irritation or swollen eyes. Rosacea can often be mistaken for acne or an allergic reaction, and tends to affect individuals with fair skin who blush or get flushed easily.

Light is absorbed by red blood cells and breaks down the lining of inflamed blood vessels effectively. By targeting visible blood vessels, overall redness and blotchiness are greatly minimized. Regular use of sunblock, identifying triggers of rosacea and staying away from them in conjunction with our treatment plan will ultimately help you achieve a long-term solution.
